An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.
The arrests follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.
The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
